MULTI-PHASE AGRICULTURAL BUILD

Explore

Stanley Construction Services Ltd were appointed to undertake the substantial refurbishment and redevelopment of a redundant dairy farm in the heart of Cheshire, transforming the site into a modern, efficient agricultural facility.

The project involves the removal of four existing mixed-use agricultural buildings and the reconfiguration of the site to support horticulture, livestock and machinery storage. A key focus of the scheme is to improve operational efficiency across the 25-acre site, with a redesigned layout to maximise workflow and minimise labour requirements.

Infrastructure upgrades form a significant part of the works, including the installation of new access roadways, drainage systems, electrical improvements and a pumping station. In addition, a purpose-built lagoon is being constructed to harvest and store rainwater, providing a sustainable water source distributed across the site via the new pumping system.

This project reflects SCS’s capability to deliver large-scale agricultural redevelopment schemes, combining practical design with modern, environmentally conscious solutions.

BUILDING ONE
IN PROGRESS

Potting Shed – Horticultural Facility
A purpose-built agricultural building designed to support horticultural operations, providing a practical and efficient environment for plant cultivation and preparation.
The structure offers a large open-plan footprint to accommodate potting, planting, and vegetable growing, alongside integrated staff facilities including an office, kitchen, and WC. Roller shutter access allows for the easy movement of small vehicles and equipment, ensuring smooth day-to-day operation.
Measuring approximately 26m x 11m, the building has been carefully designed to maximise usability, workflow, and long-term functionality within the wider site layout.

BUILDING TWO
IN PROGRESS

Machinery Storage Building
A purpose-built agricultural structure designed to provide secure and practical storage for machinery and farm implements.
The building is arranged across five bays, with a combination of open-fronted access and enclosed sections fitted with electrically operated roller shutters. This flexible layout allows for both quick access and secure storage, supporting efficient day-to-day farm operations.
Constructed with durability and functionality in mind, the building measures approximately 22m x 6.5m, with a 4m eaves height, providing ample clearance for agricultural equipment and vehicles.

BUILDING THREE
IN PROGRESS

Livestock Housing Facility
A purpose-built agricultural building designed to accommodate livestock, with a primary focus on housing rare breed goats in a safe and controlled environment.
The structure is configured as a six-bay building, with each bay fitted with roller shutter access to provide flexibility, ventilation and ease of management. Internally, the building is subdivided to create suitable enclosures tailored to livestock requirements, supporting animal welfare and efficient day-to-day management.
Measuring approximately 26m x 7.5m with a 3.2m eaves height, the facility has been designed to combine durability, practicality, and adaptability within the wider agricultural operation.

EXTERNAL WORKS
IN PROGRESS

A comprehensive programme of external works has been undertaken to support the full redevelopment of the site, transforming the existing dairy farm into a well-structured, efficient and hard-wearing operational environment.
The works include extensive site clearance and demolition, with existing structures broken out and processed on-site for reuse where possible. Large volumes of material have been crushed and repurposed to form new sub-bases, creating sustainable and cost-effective foundations for roads, yards and hardstandings across the development.
New access routes and circulation areas have been carefully formed to improve movement throughout the site, supporting both machinery and day-to-day agricultural operations. Groundworks have been carried out to establish level, durable surfaces, alongside the installation of new drainage systems to manage surface water effectively.
All works have been delivered with a focus on durability, efficiency and long-term performance, ensuring the external infrastructure supports the operational demands of the modernised agricultural facility.
